Bermuda SongSharingGreg AllenVA22911
This past October I visited Bermuda on business, and took my guitar with me. While there I visited a lovely senior home and shared an hour of live music with a great audience there. The highlight for me was the look on the face of one of the staff members when they walked through and realized these folks were jamming to the Beatles and REM, as well as Sam Cooke and The Everly Brothers.
Helping handsRebeccaAL35080
While pregnant with my son, my husband and I were financially a mess. We had a friend that shared with us by acting like she was geting rid of food because she was moving. She knew we wouldnt accept her "help" if she just blatantly gave it too us. We were military family at the time, little did she know how much she truly was helping out.
Sharing a MealMary-LynMI49306
A friend of mine went through a really hard time with the unexpected death of her brother right after the birth of her second child. I not only made meals for her family, I babysat her kids when she needed some grieving time or alone time.
Helping a FriendDianeMI48879
My daughter has a friend at daycare, and we know the single mom is struggling financially. Many times we tell them 'not to bother' to send a lunch, then I send double the food with my daughter.
Helping UncigloriaAL36609
I adopted a Native American Elder Grandmother. One of the first things I sent to Unci was a box of used clothes and a new jacket. I called her a few weeks later and she said when she got the box she sat down on her bed and cried. She has spent all her life helping others and has never really taken anything for her self. She loved everything I sent.
I have never helped a person who has been more grateful for the smallest things. I continue helping her.

My step father Larry passed away 6 years ago but still to this day I can remember all the little thing he did to try and help others. He would always tell me give them a hand and you will give them hope. He is no longer with us, but now I carry on where he left of helping those who have very little. In hopes that it will give them hope and let them know there are still those out there who do care.

My husband coached my osn's soccer team and I helped out.
Mothers first mealAmandaDE19977
A co-worker of mine had just given birth to her first son and to assist her and allow her some special time with her new baby boy I stopped by her house to cook her dinner for the first week.

Tiny Tots' TomatoesJenniferWI53916
The Fox Lake, Wisconsin, Kiwanis Club "adopted" a Day Care Center. Every Friday, we read preselected books to them. Next, members were taking in gently used toys, craft supplies, and "little people" furniture. We started doing "odd jobs" around the place. When gardens were overflowing, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and apples found their way onto the kids' plates. The kids were especially fond of the cherry tomatoes and liked to pop them in their mouths, bite them and have them "explode!" :-)
